About The Position

Mater’s Supply Chain Operations currently has an opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to join the team in a permanent full time role based at our Newstead office. This position will oversee the purchase to pay process ensuring accurate, timely and compliant service standards within the Supply Chain Operations team. This role is proactive in adopting new ways of working and supporting process improvements to develop and grow Mater services. Requirements

  • Purchasing experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Competence utilising Microsoft Office suite and a computerised inventory/financial management program
  • Working knowledge of product database cataloguing techniques
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to provide customer-focused solutions
  • Excellent communicator with strong customer service and interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to meet deadlines, perform and prioritise under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the accurate and timely coordination of purchase orders for the site, ensuring all process requirements are followed.
  • Update and track purchase orders through Mater’s purchasing system and provide reports as required.
  • Support issues resolution and follow-up as required to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Coordinate approvals and liaise with Mater stakeholders in accounts to ensure timely payment.
  • Adhere to Mater processes for updating new vendors and changes to vendor details, ensuring accuracy and timely update of information for seamless service delivery.
  • Raise issues with the Supply Chain Operations team as part of a continuous process of feedback and review.
