The Purchasing Coordinator provides administrative support for the team of commodity purchasers. The primary focus of this role is to streamline the function of the commodity buyers, while enabling a high level of communication with the yards, vendors, and salespeople. The optimal Purchasing Coordinator is someone with above-average organizational skills, is detail oriented, highly accurate, and able to complete tasks accurately with minimal supervision. This role is vital to fulfilling our mission of Legendary Service Through Teamwork because a highly effective purchasing department is critical to the company being able to deliver on our customer service promises - as well as being critical to the profitability of PARR. The Purchasing Coordinator reports directly to the Purchasing Manager, and works closely with the Operational Teams. This person interacts daily with vendors, sales, and yard personnel. The primary working conditions are an office environment with a computer. The job may require occasional work in lumberyard working to train employees. The job may require occasional travel to PARR locations in the Northwest.
