About The Position

We are hiring a full-time Purchasing Coordinator to join our Purchasing Department. The role of Purchasing Coordinator is to order/receive food and beverage products, reconcile requisitions & Purchase Orders in Cedar Creek, and oversee the storing & handling of perishable & non-perishable products. The successful candidate will be a key player in the overall handling of perishable & non-perishable products being delivered to the Club. The purchasing coordinator will work with the Director of Purchasing to ensure all areas have par levels established & maintained.

Requirements

  • Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle (NYS driver’s license) required
  • Excellent organizational skills efficiency skills
  • Safety minded
  • Both courteous and friendly manner
  • Must be able to work productively with limited supervision
  • Needs to be able to manage multiple priorities
  • Must have strong independent reasoning and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take responsibility for completing daily assignments diligently
  • Must be flexible to meet scheduling needs
  • Must adhere to club grooming, uniform and overall Employee Handbook policies
  • Ability to read, write and compute basic math
  • Possess a high attention to detail, work at a fast pace and follow directions well
  • Must have strong independent reasoning and decision-making skills
  • Ability to speak, read & write in English fluently
  • Must be able to communicate & interact professionally with members, employees and vendors
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time, lifting and moving boxes of up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Bend, lift, reach and push to perform routine job tasks
  • Frequent walking and standing (up to 8 hours a day) and occasional sitting (when driving)
  • Intermittent squatting, bending, twisting
  • Periodically required to handle and move objects weighing up to 60 lbs. over short distances, using appropriate hand trucks and carts
  • Work in various temperatures - kitchen, refrigerator & freezer

Nice To Haves

  • Prior warehouse, food storeroom and or hospitality experience preferred
  • Previous food & beverage experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all products are received, dated, rotated in proper order and stored according to Health code standards, using the Cedar Creek procurement system optimally
  • Notify Director of Purchasing of any receiving issues
  • Communicate to culinary team when there is a shortage or change in product(s)
  • Maintain all products & storage locations in accordance with safe and proper handling procedures, maintaining order and cleanliness of work areas at all times, and assisting in monthly inventories
  • Develop and manage positive relationships with internal & external customers and with vendors, by showing strong interpersonal skills, in order to ensure the Club gets high quality products at all times
  • Adjust invoices as needed & communicate to vendors and Director of Purchasing
  • Coordinate with Director of Purchasing monthly inventories
  • Work collaboratively with storeroom attendants and oversee the operation in absence of Director of Purchasing
  • Practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others
  • Manage special projects as assigned by Director of Purchasing
