About The Position

As a member of the Purchasing team, the Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for facilitating inventory management activities with branch personnel, supporting the Buyers, and providing general support and coordination to the Purchasing department. Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors’ degree in supply chain or related field preferred.
  • Two or more years’ experience in a procurement or similar position preferred.
  • Working knowledge and a thorough understanding of procurement process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with particular knowledge of spreadsheets.
  • Previous experience and/or proficiency in using ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and keen observation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and balance multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to research, analyze data, and present conclusions.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English in both written and verbal forms.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Review special order / procurement requests made by Branch personnel. Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers for procurements. Issue purchase orders for fulfillment.
  • Contact suppliers to proactively communicate delivery priorities. Secure firm ship dates and quantities to support customer demand. Keep dates and other purchasing records accurate in the ERP.
  • Identify orders at risk of being late and communicate the status to the Buyer and Branch Sales personnel.
  • Manage the non-stock inventory in the stores by arranging the return on unnecessary and non-stock materials to the suppliers. Assist in quarterly stock returns to the DC.
  • Handle all stock procurements and manage procurement queue to ensure accuracy of purchase orders with respect to product, quantity, cost, and freight.
