About The Position

The Purchasing Assistant Manager is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the procurement of high-quality goods and services at competitive prices. The ideal candidate has a strong background in managing customs clearance processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and handling documentation for international shipments; the critical role in facilitating international trade and ensuring that all customs processes are handled efficiently and in accordance with legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of supply chain management.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Negotiation skills: You will be equipped at best practice negotiation processes to effectively manage vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess market trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Defined leadership skills: Ability to lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a battery, automotive, or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and just-in-time inventory.
  • Ability to work in a bilingual environment (Korean/English).

Responsibilities

  • Develop Purchasing Strategies Create and implement effective purchasing strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
  • Vendor Management Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Market Analysis Analyze market trends and forecast demand to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Collaboration Work closely with internal teams (e.g., finance, operations) to understand supply needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Inventory Management Monitor inventory levels and adjust orders to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Cost Tracking Track purchasing metrics and performance to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
