The Role: The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, creating purchase orders, managing delivery transportation, and analyzing trends to identify opportunities of profitability improvement. A strong candidate demonstrates an eagerness to learn, curiosity, and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in business or a related field
- 1-2 years of purchasing or inventory management experience
- An empathetic and positive personality to support others
- Proven experience in office administration
- Well versed in Microsoft Office - especially Outlook and Excel
- An understanding of purchasing or business sales, inventory, and supply chain
- A solutions-focused mindset that can easily adapt to ever-changing tasks
Responsibilities
- Source materials for service and sales operations
- Work with sales reps to understand vendor order requirements - place orders accordingly
- Create purchase and drop ship orders
- Coordinate logistics to achieve delivery date requirements
- Work with operations and accounting teams to define, write, and maintain standard operating procedures related to purchasing, supply chain, and inventory functions
- Data analysis related to inventory and material trends
- Work with vendors to resolve conflicts relating to products including returns and warranty submissions
