About The Position

This position primarily provides support for the Intermountain Purchasing Card and ePayables Programs. Responsible for independently processing source data/documents while performing routine, repetitive, and detail oriented accounts payable tasks at a high level of productivity and accuracy. Under general supervision performs assigned duties and responsibilities. This is a hybrid position Scope This position is the entry level position in accounts payable supporting the I-Card and/or ePayables programs. This position provides basic administrative support to Intermountain purchasing card cardholders, employees who submit reimbursements, suppliers, and management. Support tasks include report generation, customer service, and data gathering.

Requirements

  • A college student in accounting, finance, or business related field (economics, statistics, and mathematics), - or - Two years related accounting, finance, banking, or business experience.
  • Experience using word processing (mail merge), spreadsheet (vlookup, pivot tables), internet and e-mail, etc.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service including ability to communicate clearly over the phone and in written correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and assignments under strict deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of college-level accounting, finance, or business courses.
  • Purchasing card, ePayables, or banking experience.
  • Experience with one or more financial applications. (Such as PeopleSoft, APOnline, PaymentNet, Access Online).
  • Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to teach and train others.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to assume more complex assignments as demonstrated by increase in previous work responsibilities.
  • Exhibits the following characteristics: resource person, trainer, seeks additional tasks.
  • Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information. - and - Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands. - and - See and read computer monitors and documents. - and - Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently performs a large volume of data gathering, analysis, and reporting to support program requirements and customers, striving for 100% accuracy. This includes, but is not limited to, employee data, accounting data, and bank data.
  • Performs a variety of calculating, verifying, posting, researching, and summarizing tasks in maintaining assigned segments of financial records.
  • Maintains and builds good working relationships with team members, cardholders, and bank representatives in resolving program issues.
  • Uses proficiency in financial applications (AP Online, PeopleSoft and bank software) to provide a large volume of data and reports in support of customer and program needs.
  • Uses thorough understanding of program processes, policies, and procedures to assist, educate, and train customers.
  • Understands the financial, policy, and regulatory statement implications of various subsidiary systems.
  • Resolves errors and notifies appropriate personnel to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers with timely and professional support of a large volume of phone calls and emails.
  • Researches routine and non-routine issues and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability by taking responsibility for tasks and exemplifying dependable attendance.
  • Manages a volume of work to meet required deadlines.
