Cleveland Clinic Respiratory Therapy Enterprise is one of the world’s largest and most highly respected academic respiratory therapy collaboratives. It provides evidence-based clinical care to some of the most critically ill patients in the United States. As a Pulmonary Function Technician, you will provide a diagnostic evaluation of pulmonary functioning in patients managing respiratory insufficiencies. A caregiver in this role works days from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with weekend requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the NBRC
  • Florida Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • One year of patient care experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform ordered pulmonary function, methacholine testing and pulmonary stress testing.
  • Perform and analyze quality control data and advanced invasive or noninvasive protocols.
  • Design and perform investigatory protocols.
  • Manage the Pulmonary Function Laboratory, including scheduling and ordering supplies.
  • Facilitate services for home care patients.
  • Prepare, maintain and calibrate pulmonary function testing equipment.
  • Maintain adequate levels of supplies used for testing.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and report needed repairs/replacements.
  • Provide educational in-services to staff, advanced practice nurses and physician assistants.
  • At sites where applicable, perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
