About The Position

This position is responsible for learning how to maintain sharp tools and perform precision cuts to carcasses for correct further processing and desired yield, including removing hide. The role involves operating powered tools, adhering to safety and food safety policies, and setting up the work area. Tasks also include monitoring the production area for cleanliness and performing other duties as assigned by supervisors. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job. Requirements

  • Must have 6 months of continuous employment in the last 18 months of relevant machine operator, warehouse, agricultural or production experience
  • May occasionally be required to lift/carry up to 50lbs
  • Able to work on and around machinery and chemicals
  • Able to perform the following task for periods up to 12 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting
  • Able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours
  • Able to work in a wet environment
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Learning how to maintain sharp tools to perform job task correctly
  • Making precision cuts to carcass that allows for correct further processing to achieve desired carcass yield
  • Making precision cuts to carcass to remove hide only to achieve desired carcass yield
  • Operating a powered tool to perform job task
  • Adhering to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies
  • Setting up area with all needed equipment
  • Monitoring production area for trash and food debris on floor
  • Performing various other tasks as assigned by Lead person, Supervisor or Superintendent
  • Completing work cycles in less than 20 seconds
  • Cleaning up area at end of production shift, including but not limited to sweeping, picking up debris from the floor, and spraying work areas
  • Completing cycles in less than 10 seconds
