We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented candidate to support both the Publisher and a Senior Editor in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, the candidate will support both the Publisher and the Senior Editor across a wide range of responsibilities spanning the publishing process.

Requirements

  • The candidate will be expected to work independently, confidentially, and professionally in a fast-paced office environment
  • Possess strong MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Maintain exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills and an attention to detail and deadlines are indispensable
  • Passion for fantasy, science fiction, and horror a must

Responsibilities

  • Assist on managing the overview and seasonal flow of Saga Press, organizing all seasonal materials (imprint tipsheets, title grids, and sales materials), scheduling meetings and all calendar oversight, note taking, and helping to maintain all imprint traffic and deadlines.
  • Assist on all levels of acquisition to publication. Responsibilities include reviewing manuscripts, logging submissions, facilitating book management inter-departmentally, general administrative duties, communicating with authors and agents by phone and email, drafting sales copy, preparing tip sheets and contract-related documents, and organizing schedules and meetings.
