The Graduate Student Life unit within the Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies provides professional, wellness, and career development events and resources for graduate students enrolled in both main campus and distance/online programs. The Publications and Special Projects Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Graduate Student Life as well as to the Associate Vice Provost and Dean of the Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies. Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversee and manage student and public facing communications including the Graduate School Website and Graduate School social media Serve as the University Communications Liaison for the Graduate School Manage the electronic thesis and dissertation submission process for all graduate students Field inquiries from students and faculty related to the electronic thesis and dissertation requirements including those outlined in the student handbooks Facilitate submissions and completions of committee reviews, managing revisions, and ensuring a final manuscript is ready for publication to NCDocks Manage inquiries from the public regarding published documents and related instruments Serve as a liaison between the Graduate School and University Libraries to facilitate the manuscript binding process Update all handbooks maintained by the graduate school Assist in processing graduate student matriculation paperwork including forms, DegreeWorks’ program audits, graduate degree clearances Assist the graduate student life with professional development opportunities related to the thesis and dissertation completions including formatting workshops, partnerships with the university’s research office, and providing mentorship opportunities for students in their final phases of their research writing Provide administrative support for the Graduate Academic Policies and Procedures Committee Demonstrate a commitment to the University’s diversity, equity, and inclusion principles by creating opportunities that support the success of all graduate students. Contribute positively to the work of the Graduate School by being consistently productive, taking initiative in the ongoing development of support programs, and being self-directed and detail-oriented.
