This position will be based out of our Wellesley, MA office and interns must be able to work on a hybrid basis. About This Role Reporting to the Associate Director, Valuations, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing the daily securities valuations process with a focus on vendor provided fixed income and exchange traded prices. The ideal candidate is a motivated transformational change agent responsible for overseeing efficient and effective operational processes that support all downstream consumers of valuation data including external clients. Success in this role will require a high degree of collaboration, attention to detail, commitment to accurately completing daily processes and controls along with experience working with the various 3rd party valuation providers across all asset classes. This internship will provide an opportunity to develop financial and analytical skills and gain exposure to many facets of institutional asset management including Vendor Management and Investment Operations. While the job role primarily supports the Valuations team, you will have the opportunity to interface and learn from financial professionals in other areas across SLC.

Requirements

  • A strong interest in investments, finance, and the trading/market data systems used.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Access, SharePoint, and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to think analytically to solve complex problems.
  • Positive attitude and ability to collaborate and work effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • A desire to continuously learn and develop new skills, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth.
  • Ability to communicate analysis and conclusions clearly and effectively.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university during the time of the internship (June - August 2026)
  • Eligible to legally work in the United States
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during co-op session

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the continuous development of the team’s Asset Valuation System to enhance capabilities.
  • Submit and monitor price challenges issued to pricing vendors based on daily valuation controls
  • Ensure an adequate control environment is maintained to identify price challenges, stale prices, missing prices, and to review day over day price changes proactively.
  • Review third party vendor valuation output and work with external valuation experts as needed.
  • Addresses process breakdowns quickly, identifies the source of problem, and develops solutions that eliminate wasted effort and inefficiencies across teams.
  • Assist in the compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables for internal stakeholders.
  • Document business processes and support other functions as needs and priorities shift.
