The City needs a customer-service oriented individual who enjoys interacting with the public to safely drive a van or bus during the busy afternoon hours to transport patrons of the Public Transportation Program. In this position you will: · Coordinate routing and pick-up of passengers, including children, elderly and/or disabled. · Be responsible for safety of passengers getting on and off van or bus including operating wheelchair lift. · Collect fares, handle cash, maintain passenger logs, and use radio or phone to communicate with dispatch. Typical shift will be scheduled on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hired individual may also be able to pick up additional hours to cover vacancies but is not expected to work more than 20 hours per week.
