About The Position

The purpose of this position is to assist GCU Public Safety by patrolling the facility or campus grounds used in campus events. Responsibilities Related to Purpose: Provides enthusiastic, first-class customer service to all guests. Monitors and authorizes access to facilities and events for guests, stage personnel, event(s) staff, employees, which always enforces the venue’s rules and regulations. Assist with special details, such as placing barricades and direct traffic. Ensures safety and security of students, faculty, employees, guests, visitors, event attendees and/or members of the public. Ensures compliance with University policies, and Public Safety policy. Equipment Used and Responsibility Ensuring security equipment are suitable and remain in excellent working conditions throughout all events Assist with usage of metal detectors and hand wands at all scheduled events Effective radio communication Ensures safety and security of all attendees Microsoft Teams Qualifications: Professional appearance and demeanor with ability to interact positively with staff, guests, visitors, and members of the public. Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays depending on scheduled events. Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University. Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment: Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor’s program or Master’s program. Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student. Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
