Purpose Within the Organization: The purpose of the Campus Safety Student Guard position is to assist with GCU’s Public Safety department in an effort to keep the campus safe. Responsibilities Related to Purpose: Direct traffic to different campus locations at booths. Greet, ID, and decal check everyone coming onto campus. Assist with other details as assigned by a Public Safety Supervisor or Manager. Work a minimum of two shifts a week, up to 20 hours a week. Shift Needs: Day Shift: 0530-1500; every day except Wednesdays. Swing Shift: 1430-2100; every day except Wednesdays. Night Shift: 2200-0230; Friday and Saturday nights only. If your availability does not allow you to work two shifts, you may be terminated. Qualifications: Criminal Justice Studies or ROTC students preferred. Sophomores and upperclassmen preferred; freshmen will only be considered in special cases. The ideal candidate will have a positive, friendly, and outgoing personality. Customer service oriented. Must be punctual. Willingness to learn and able to follow procedures. Responsible, trustworthy, approachable, and assertive. Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Requirements: Valid driver's license Clean driving record Education: Grand Canyon University is committed to a student-first policy. Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student. Maintain good financial standing with the University. You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
