Barings’ Public Portfolio Services team is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate to join our dynamic group of financial professionals. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build foundational experience in fund operations and portfolio oversight while contributing to key processes that support our investment teams and clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and communicate findings clearly.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Aladdin experience is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or progress toward certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting and finance fiduciary responsibility over firm’s private investments including fund of funds, co-investments, private equity/real assets, real estate, and private credit.
  • Assist with daily and periodic fund accounting tasks, including monitoring dashboards and quality checks.
  • Help reconcile portfolio activity and monthly transactions between Barings and external fund administrators.
  • Support the review of investor balances, NAV allocations, and subscription/redemption activity.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for data and documentation.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of fund structures, governing documents, and client mandates.
  • Collaborate with third-party administrators and internal teams to ensure service quality.
  • Contribute to the preparation of portfolio reports and reconciliations.
  • Assist in testing and implementing system updates and process changes.
  • Share ideas to improve efficiency and effectiveness across systems and workflows.
  • Take on other relevant tasks as needed to support the team and business goals.
