A Public Health Representative II works to control and prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases or Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) by identifying and counseling people who have been exposed to such diseases and motivating them to be promptly examined and treated. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in homes, health clinics and communities where there is possible exposure to contagious diseases and undesirable environments. Work requires minimal physical exertion.
