Work of this class involves supervising nutrition technicians, aides and office support personnel. Incumbents receive moderate supervision from an administrative superior. Employees in this class work a conventional work week and may be required to work weekends. Work is primarily performed in an office or clinic where normal working conditions are encountered but may involve visits to clients’ homes. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

Requirements

  • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least 15 credit hours in food and nutrition.
  • Have two years of experience providing nutrition counseling.
  • Have an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dietetic Technology from an American Dietetic Association approved program may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Employees assigned to the WIC Program will be required to pass the State training program for certification as a Competent Professional Authority within nine months of employment.
