About The Position

The Vermont Department of Health's St. Alban's District Office has an opening for a dynamic Nutrition Assistant to complement its professional team. This position offers an opportunity to work with clients and community partners in direct support of the Women Infants and Children (WIC) program. It is a nutrition education and clerical position that advances the mission: To protect and promote the best health for all Vermonters. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a health related field OR two (2) years of experience in a health related environment

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in nutrition or health, education or a human services field
  • Experience in a health or nutrition related community setting

Responsibilities

  • Work one on one with WIC participants by providing certification services
  • Use problem solving skills to resolve nutrition-related questions from participants and community partners
  • Provide clerical duties that support the enrollment and retention of WIC participants
  • Participate in office initiatives such as lead screening and emergency preparedness
