About The Position

Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Summary: The Public Health Analyst I provides analytical, coordination, and reporting support for CDC public health initiatives, with a focus on healthcare-associated infection (HAI) surveillance and analytics activities. This role supports program coordination, meeting planning, data quality monitoring, and development of reports and materials that advance the mission and goals of the Surveillance Branch (SB).

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based public health environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Minimum one (1) or more years of experience supporting public health programs, research, or analytics activities

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate meetings with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including planning, logistics, and follow up activities.
  • Prepare materials (talking points, presentations, background materials, leave behind documents) for meetings with internal and external audiences.
  • Work with SB staff and CDC SB subject matter experts to ensure coordination of SB activities management, analysis, and reporting (e.g., healthcare-associated infection (HAI) analysis code translation, HAI re-baseline implementation).
  • Draft accurate reports on key milestones, activities, and strategies in support of SB’s Mission and goals (e.g., annual HAI standardized infection ratios).
  • Work with SB leadership to help coordinate with external partners and stakeholders and draft plans for collaborative activities (e.g., CMS and CDC Patient Safety workgroups and supporting analytic and technical support).
  • Monitor data/information quality and disseminate data/information related to SB’s Acute Care and Analytics Team activities to track organizational performance and facilitate evaluation of HAI program impact.
  • Attend SB-related coordination meetings and team building activities as appropriate.
  • Attend approved conferences and meetings in relations to healthcare-associated infection surveillance data and analytic reports.
  • Attend CDC approved trainings required to learn new government systems to complete required tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
