Idaho Public Television (PTV) has an exciting and very rare opportunity for a PTV Producer/Director. About the Agency: Idaho Public Television is a PBS member station and Idaho's only locally owned and operated statewide broadcast network. We are a state agency under the Idaho State Board of Education. Our nonprofit arm, The Friends of Idaho Public Television, Inc., provides private support for our content production and educational efforts and allows us to produce award-winning long form documentaries, quality public affairs journalism, podcasts, educational digital lesson plans, and community events. We harness the power of public media to encourage lifelong learning, connect our communities, and enrich the lives of all Idahoans. We tell Idaho's stories. Summary: To produce and direct original content using single camera (EFP), studio, or remote equipment; coordinates program production; performs related work. This person will be primarily responsible for producing long-form documentaries for programs such as Outdoor Idaho and Idaho Experience, but may also produce shorter news or web videos. This person will be part of a documentary production team but often will be self-directed. So this person must be comfortable with shared work as well as operating with independence and with autonomy in the field. This person will be expected to travel the state and report from remote communities and back-country settings, so a passion for Idaho's rural and outdoor settings is required.
