Our assembler position will allow you to apply both traits while impacting the future of flight. You will be responsible for a key role in our process and ensure EH&S and quality standards are kept. Responsibilities would be in one or more of the following areas: sub-assembly, balancing, main assembly and packing of engines in the repair and overhaul area. This position will service our PT6 line. You will work on our 2nd shift, which is 4x10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday from 3:30 PM until 1:30 AM. Training will take place on 1st shift for up to 6 months before moving into 2nd shift. Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Requirements

  • Active Powerplant license at the time of hire
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years specialized training in aviation maintenance, assembly or test of gas turbine engines or similar aircraft systems.
  • Prior experience working on PW engines.
  • Knowledge of aircraft engine assembly procedures including fits and tolerances, use of precision measuring instruments and gauges, hand tools, special assembly equipment and the ability to work from complicated drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work from manuals, service bulletins and other technical instructions.
  • Use various hand tools, precision measuring equipment, special tooling and gauges.
  • Coordinate parts, consumables and non-product material movements.
  • Function as an Assembly tech to ensure standard work and standard methodologies are accomplished while assuring daily targets are met.
  • Be fully engaged to support all Continuous Improvement, Quality, EH&S, and overall Operations initiatives and policies to meet company goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and refer team challenges to Supervisor.
