About The Position

The Psychotherapist is responsible for completing mental health and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) clinical assessments; providing individual, family, and group therapy; case management and discharge planning with the highest level of service excellence. The therapist consults with physicians and fellow caregivers as a member of a multidisciplinary team to assure the highest quality service is delivered in a timely and efficient manner. They participate in departmental and system-wide quality improvement activities and act as a resource to all clinic and system personnel.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree or Doctorate in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or closely related field, and After obtaining the degree, has completed at least 2 years or 4,000 hours of post degree supervised clinical practice under supervision in an appropriate setting; and is a licensed Mental Health Professional in the state of Minnesota OR, has completed clinical education and internship as required by graduate program, is licensed provisionally by the Minnesota Board (as appropriate) and is working toward independent licensure
  • Basic Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Patient Information Database (Cerner)
  • BLS Certification

Responsibilities

  • Performs high quality therapeutic services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provides individual clinical assessments of patients/families to promote intervention strategies to facilitate quality of care, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Performs at a level to meet individual productivity standard.
  • Documents all sessions with patients/families completely and in accordance with all regulations in the patient’s clinical electronic medical record.
  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge and performance in the profession/position.
  • Is knowledgeable of and keeps current on available community resources.
  • Provides information and referrals for the patient to the community resources.
  • Remains up to date and current on all child protection, vulnerable adult, and sexual abuse law and practice.
  • Networking.
  • Maintains service excellence by exhibiting excellent customer relations with patients, families, significant others, visitors, physicians, coworkers, and community and referral services.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
