About The Position

Introduction The Thomas B. Finan Center is an inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Cumberland, Maryland. It is owned and managed by the State of Maryland. This state psychiatric facility operates 88 beds. The Finan Center provides services to persons who are 18 years of age and older. GRADE ASTD24 LOCATION OF POSITION Thomas B. Finan Center 10102 Country Club Road Cumberland, MD 21502 This facility is located two and a half hours from Baltimore, MD. Main Purpose of Job The Psychologist II position provides treatment services for patients/residents in accordance with Center policies and Psychology Department standards in order to help patients/residents improve their psychological functioning and accomplish objectives specified in their treatment plans. This Psychologist II position also completes psychological assessments of patients/residents in accordance with Center policies and Psychology Department standards in order to assist with patient/resident treatment planning, diagnosis, management and treatment.

Requirements

Education : Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists under the licensing requirements for Psychologists.
Experience : Two years of experience rendering psychological services or engaged in psychological research after receipt of the Psychologist license.
Candidates for this classification must be licensed as a Psychologist by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists prior to permanent appointment to a position.
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
Will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
