Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

  • First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention
  • Required – Three (3) years of direct experience or five (5) years in a related area with specific experience in following regulatory guidelines, quality compliance, and investigative experience.
  • A proven track record in working successfully with diverse populations
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to: a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. b. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals. c. Provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Compass Connections when needed to maintain a safe environment. d. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times. e. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position. f. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Devotes time to ensure access to the program and utilizes the authority of the role to question staff, managers, and supervisors in order to guide implementation of the care provider facility's policies and procedures and effectuate change in respect to operations and activities that influence the Prevention of Sexual Abuse objectives.
  • Perform a variety of administrative support tasks involving the implementation of federal policy, to include management of information that is highly confidential.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to facilitate completion of all incidents of sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
  • Conducts department training such as PSA, standards, and policies and procedures training.
  • Complete on-call rotations.
  • Work collaborative with the Program to complete group sessions for the minors as it pertains to PSA requirements.
  • Must be current on all standards noted in the federal policy, specifically Section 4: Preventing, Detecting, and Responding to Sexual Abuse and Harassment, state licensing, IFR, Compass Connections Policy and Procedures, and all other relevant child welfare guidelines and regulations.
  • Collect data and draft reports, assess program compliance, and provide programmatic recommendations regarding the implementation of federal policy. Assists with preparing, analyzing, monitoring, and correcting data for reports.
  • Continually assess ongoing program challenges the preclude PSA services from being met.
  • Provides technical standards compliance assistance to staff, supervisors, and administrators as requested.
  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions and operations.
  • Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by supervisor.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.
  • Conducts reviews of sexual abuse and sexual harassment allegations and prepares a year-by-year comparison report per federal standards.
  • Develops processes, forms, and tools that assist Program staff in achieving and monitoring compliance with state and federal standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members and always complying with required dress code.
  • Oversee information on incidents of child sexual abuse and harassment.
  • Ensure all children identified as victims receive all necessary medical and mental health services.
  • Make certain all incidents are reported in a timely manner to all applicable entities and maintain complete documentation for federal review.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the federal PSA Coordinator.
