Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant behavioral science field with required clinical experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or equivalent field with at least five years of clinical experience in behavioral sciences
  • Knowledge of local community social services
  • Specialized experience working with immigrant populations
  • Knowledge of family preservation, kinship care, and child welfare systems
  • Understanding of trauma impacts on child and adolescent development and experience working in cross-cultural settings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply logic, analytics, and critical thinking for problem-solving
  • Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Strong clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage
  • Must pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish/English fluency or other commonly spoken languages among refugee and immigrant populations strongly preferred
  • Experience working with unaccompanied children and families preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate intensive clinical case management and crisis intervention services to unaccompanied children and families
  • Maintain a caseload in compliance with contract terms and agency expectations
  • Conduct home visits in accordance with contract requirements, when needed
  • Create safety plans and treatment plans according to program standards
  • Provide psychoeducational information, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to children and families, when needed
  • Conduct regular family visits focused on stabilization, preservation, and therapeutic support
  • Refer and connect families to available community resources on an ongoing basis
  • Assess safety and appropriateness of placements using child welfare principles and social work best practices
  • Serve clients throughout the assigned state as needed
  • Participate in mandatory and ongoing training to meet federal, state, and agency expectations
  • Attend weekly meetings with site and clinical leadership to review case plans and progress
  • Participate in peer consultation and case support activities within the program
  • Provide psychoeducation on the impact of prolonged family separation and trauma
  • Continually assess client needs across legal, medical, behavioral, educational, and social domains
  • Educate children and families on risks related to exploitation, trafficking, substance abuse, coercion, and gang involvement
  • Collaborate with Case Support Workers to provide vetted referrals to families
  • Stay current on all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services
  • Essential job responsibilities may vary based on program or department needs
  • May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany-sponsored event
  • Complete other duties as assigned
