At Syringa Networks, the primary responsibilities of a Provisioning Engineer include designing, ordering, and provisioning circuits on Ethernet, IP, MPLS and TDM/SONET networks; coordinating all stages of order processing including equipment procurement, working with and ordering services through type II providers, and installation and completion of services with customers; managing circuit design records and creating network diagrams. Technical experience and competence, attention to detail and professionalism are all of key importance. The job functions and responsibilities for our Provisioning Engineer include: Provisioning Ethernet, IP, MPLS and TDM/SONET circuits. Circuit design and resource allocation including bandwidth, facilities, and equipment resources. Creating and maintaining circuit and design layout records. Circuit ID assignment including maintenance of the Circuit ID database. Interfacing with customers to coordinate order dates and facilitate equipment installations, test, and turn-up activities. Coordinating schedules, deployment, and installation of the physical plant and networking equipment required to test and turn-up new services with internal functional groups including the Inside and Outside Plant groups. Creating Maintenance Activity Announcements and MOPs including identification of the affected circuits and network resources. Providing Tier 2 support to Network Surveillance Center & Engineering with troubleshooting network service interruptions and issues. Supporting maintenance activities within maintenance windows as needed and required.
