TOTH is currently seeking candidates for an experienced Protection & Controls Engineer role in our Substation Engineering Department. In this position, you will design power system protection schemes and provide support for the specification, installation, commissioning, and testing of associated equipment. As an experienced Protection & Controls Engineer, you will: Support or lead scope development, cost estimating, and schedule planning. Review and guide development of protection philosophies. Lead development of conceptual designs. Perform and oversee short circuit, voltage regulation, arc flash, and coordination studies. Select and specify electrical equipment, including power panels, ATS, generators, transformers, breakers, circuit switchers, and switchgear. Review vendor and contractor submittals and bills of material. Lead the development and review of comprehensive electrical drawing packages, including Single-line diagrams, AC and DC schematics, cable schedules, bills of material, and communication, logic, panel layout, wiring, and interconnection diagrams. Interface with the CAD operators for creation of construction drawings. Lead construction support. You will work with a team to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and solutions to produce a completed design. Work will include multiple projects of moderate to large size for electric utilities throughout the country.
