About The Position

This position resides in the Property Assessment Division of Department of Revenue. The Property Records Specialist (PRS) performs various duties assigned by management. They ensure that property values in the county are accurately recorded, regularly updated, and certified each year for fair and accurate property tax billings. This role supports taxpayers, county officials, and other stakeholders by maintaining reliable property records, processing ownership and sales information, and assisting with taxpayer programs and appeals.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of: Mathematics, Customer service standards, Property valuation techniques, Mapping and geographic information systems (GIS)
  • Skills in: Research and analysis, Accuracy and attention to detail, Conflict resolution, Commonly used office and spreadsheet computer applications, Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, Customer service
  • Demonstrate self-motivation
  • Follow instructions
  • Provide timely customer service
  • Handle multiple priorities under deadlines
  • One year of post-secondary education or training; and
  • One year of job-related experience.
  • Work experience may include appraisal, assessment, auditing, accounting, banking, data entry, bookkeeping, records management, customer service or a real estate related field.
  • Must pass the department’s CORE Assessment training, within the first year of employment.
  • Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • A valid driver's license is required with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months.
