About The Position

The assistant Project Manager is a non-supervisory position that is responsible for customer satisfaction in the management of project orders, beginning with quoting end through close out documents.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree in construction or technical field, or five years of experience in construction materials factory operations and customer service.
  • Experience with database software.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service role.
  • Deadline and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to diffuse difficult conversations.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and basic data entry
  • Works well in a team environment, with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established safety rules and actively participate the company’s Accident Prevent Program.
  • Serve as the Voice of the Customer within VPI. Understand customer requirements and make commitments, considering VPI capacities. Communicate those commitments in the fashion specified by the customer, e.g. email, phone, text message, etc.
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Be able to understand technical window knowledge, read window specification, a plan set, a takeoff, a contract, a submittal, etc.
  • Create custom submittal packages based on the project specifications.
  • Work closely with outside sales team to satisfy customer requests and response time needs. Customers include but are not limited to architects, envelope consultants, other design professionals, general contractors, specialty contractors and property owners.
  • Make decisions to satisfy customers’ needs. Act independently with discretion, even if the action falls outside established VPI policies and procedures.
  • Receive, edit, input and confirm customer orders and quotations using the company ERP.
  • Maintain close relationships with job site professionals. You are the communication link related to all facets of a project, including scheduling, production, delivery, and punch lists.
  • Work with and take assignments from Project Managers.
  • Other administrative functions as needed.
