About The Position

The Contractor, Project Management Services is a role within the Project Management & Strategic Operations (PMSO) team reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Technology Portfolio Management. The Contractor, PMSO Project Management Services will have execution delivery responsibilities for the implementation of an in-house banking capability for Vertex. The Contractor, PMSO Project Management Services will be charged with direct management of all PMSO activities and ensuring accurate status reporting for the implementation workstreams and driving the project outcomes. The Contractor will work closely with various internal and external Information Technology (Data, Technology and Engineering) partners as well as members of our business teams in our Accounting, Tax and Treasury functions. The Contractor will ensure that the project is in alignment with other inter-dependent projects, programs and stakeholders. This is a W2 contract role. Remote is avail. Hybrid to Boston is preferred. US only. The Contractor will be responsible for direct execution of the In-House Bank Enablement project within the Legal Entity & Governance Optimization (LEGO) program inclusive of the following responsibilities: · Project Governance · Scope Management · Schedule Management · Resource Management · Risk and Issue Management (including cross-functional impact assessment/mitigation) · Dependency Management (both within the project and externally) · Project Management of technical components (Integration, Reporting, Migration, configuration changes in multiple systems) · Stakeholder Management · Communications and Change Management · Business Adoption and Acceptance / Client Satisfaction The Contractor, PMSO Project Management Services will be expected to be heavily involved in presenting and monitoring status, anticipating challenges, unblocking issues, managing dependencies and providing business sponsor and stakeholder transparency for the program through accurate and timely management reporting. The Contractor will also be responsible for collaboration with project managers from external consulting/implementation services teams to ensure successful joint outcomes and accurate management reporting, where applicable.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing large-scale, complex projects
  • Experience managing Information Technology projects
  • Experience managing projects involving Accounting teams, processes and technologies, especially involving Intercompany Accounting Leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership presence and drive, resourcefulness, reliability and accountability including ability to hold others accountable for successful project delivery
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to clearly and succinctly express ideas
  • Experience facilitating project meetings and effectively and respectfully holding team members accountable for status, deliverables and the timely escalation of blockers
  • Unfailing commitment to representing project status in an accurate and timely manner
  • Successful history of managing collaborative projects with vendors and packaged software Collaboration
  • Exemplify a highly collaborative mindset and actively facilitate team communication

  • Understanding of the principles of IT / project financial management (e.g., capital expenses, operating expenses, amortized and expensed costs, accruals, actual and forecasted spend etc.)
