About The Position

Responsible for leading a project team (or teams) on organizational wide mid-to-low risk projects affecting multiple people within a limited number of areas/departments. May also be responsible for overall project management of smaller scale projects. The role involves planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of Quality projects, including project work plan development and management, reporting, issue tracking, scope development and management, project cost, resource and time management, communications, and risk management. The Project Manager collaborates with IT, vendors, and Customers to ensure successful project completion. Additionally, the position may serve as a liaison between the Quality Department and other affiliated practices within the health system, which includes on-site visits, facilitating regular communication, resolving client requests, and overseeing issue resolution to meet client needs and expectations outside of defined projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, OR High School Diploma or equivalent AND Four (4) years of relevant experience such as project management, project coordination, project lead, and systems analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified in a Project Management Program such as Lean/Six Sigma.
  • CPHQ Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams for organizational-wide mid-to-low risk projects, including overall management of smaller scale projects.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all aspects of Quality projects, encompassing work plan development, reporting, issue tracking, scope management, cost, resource, and time management, communications, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with IT, vendors, and Customers to ensure successful project completion.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Quality Department and affiliated health system practices, including on-site visits, communication facilitation, and issue resolution.
  • Create, maintain, and track project work plans using standard project management software tools.
  • Develop and maintain project scope/charter and schedule.
  • Manage all processes related to project information generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and disposition.
  • Facilitate the transition of project support to Customer Service upon project completion.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and escalate potential project risks and issues.
  • Implement and monitor the change control process for assigned projects.
  • Ensure clear and objective communication of project status, issues, and successes to all levels (team, management, stakeholders).
  • Conduct routine project meetings to provide guidance, direction, and discuss performance.
  • Manage internal and external resources (consultants, contractors, vendors) for project staffing and work assignment completion.
  • Schedule activities, events, and programs in support of Customer needs and expectations.
  • Manage vendor invoicing related to assigned projects, with typical budgets under $500,000.
  • Engage proper resources and facilitate resolution of project-related problems, tracking issues/risk logs.
  • Demonstrate collaboration skills, resolve conflicts, and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Prioritize work, anticipate consequences, set realistic deadlines, and forecast changes.
  • Utilize strong influencing and negotiation skills to keep projects on course.
  • Apply working knowledge of project management desktop software (Windows, MS Project, MS Office, MS SharePoint).
  • Participate in departmental planning, implement change, and contribute to team productivity and problem-solving.
  • Assist, mentor, train, and develop co-workers, creating and updating internal documentation.
  • Adhere to established policies of the West Virginia United Health System.
  • Demonstrate understanding of complex healthcare value-based programs and develop decision-support tools.
  • May require travel to other facilities or affiliated sites to assist with implementations, training, and/or support.
