We’re building a world-class Program Excellence Center (PEC) within our Portfolio Management & Design Control (PMDC) organization—and we’re looking for a driven, systems-minded Manager to help lead the charge. In this high-impact role, you’ll help shape the foundational capabilities that drive execution excellence across our global R&D portfolio. From embedding standardized practices to enabling transparent governance and building program management talent, you’ll play a key role in delivering innovation with confidence, consistency, and speed. This position is on-site in either Fort Worth, Texas or Lake Forest, California.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 years of experience in project or program management, preferably in medtech, pharma, or regulated R&D.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven ability to implement PMO capabilities (governance, metrics, training, tools).
  • Strong understanding of stage-gate processes, portfolio management, and cross-functional project leadership.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy standardized project and portfolio management processes, templates, and governance frameworks.
  • Build and maintain portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and reporting routines to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with Program Directors and project teams to support adoption of PMDC methodologies and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Lead training, onboarding, and capability-building programs for PMDC roles in collaboration with the Learning and Engagement team.
  • Support the rollout and continuous improvement of project management tools and knowledge systems in partnership with IT and business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate lessons learned capture, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
  • Contribute to the long-term scalability and sustainability of PEC by identifying opportunities for innovation, simplification, and cross-functional alignment
