About The Position

Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative (Northeast Power) has an opening for a Project Manager Intern at the Palmyra, Missouri, location. Northeast Power is a transmission cooperative delivering power to northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa. This is a paid summer internship starting in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. The standard work schedule follows a 4-day, 10-hour shift, Monday through Thursday. Some flexibility in workdays and hours may be required based on project needs and assignments. What You Will Do: This internship provides hands-on experience supporting project management activities in a construction and utility environment. The Project Management Intern will assist with planning, organizing and executing projects to ensure timely delivery and alignment with Northeast Power objectives. Key responsibilities include: Assist with planning and scheduling project activities, tracking progress, updating timelines and maintaining project documentation. Provide leadership with regular updates on project status, including upcoming activities, issues and risks, budget considerations, schedules and action items. Participate in site visits to understand project deliverables and assist in verifying that construction activities meet design requirements Gain exposure to the procurement process, including supplier selection, scoping, contract negotiation support, purchasing, delivery coordination and material or service receipt. Collaborate with internal teams and assist with additional project-related tasks as assigned. Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of construction and project management principles
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize action items
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
