About The Position

News Corp is looking for a Project Manager for our Corporate Strategy Team who will be responsible for supporting strategic planning and operations, developing research and analysis for business initiatives, as well as work with senior management across multiple Business Units and Departments to ensure the scope and direction of projects are in line with our business objectives and progressing according to plan. This role will have exposure to all projects that the strategy team oversees with a special emphasis on all of our key global platforms partnerships. This position is a direct result of the growth and broader collaboration the Corporate Strategy Team is spearheading. The Corporate Strategy Team oversees global platform partnerships to expand News Corp’s reach and distribution of content across various emerging formats, spearheads the global strategy to accelerate innovation and synergies across News Corp businesses, and provides thought leadership on new and emerging platforms, products and technologies that are applicable to News Corp’s global businesses.

Requirements

  • Project management experience managing all phases of multifaceted strategy projects with proven day-to-day project management proven expertise
  • Experience in establishing and enforcing effective product / program management strategies, methodologies and processes
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and deliver projects in accordance with agreed schedules and budgets across multiple time zones
  • Fluency in storyboarding and crafting PowerPoint presentations
  • Comfortable working in Excel
  • Ability to judiciously set and manage priorities
  • Highly organized with an ability to juggle multiple projects with varying degrees of completion and priority
  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of working in consulting, strategy and/or program management with direct experience working with senior management
  • Excellent written / oral communication, interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Exceptional service orientation and ability to motivate staff in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and see the big picture while effectively managing details
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven leadership ability and experience with workflow management
  • Superior ability to articulate ideas to various audiences such as technical and non- technical audiences, senior management, and both corporate and business unit working groups

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in digital media and publishing a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Work with members of the News Corp HQ Strategy Team to create and maintain the project management and reporting framework for projects and workstreams that are part of our Strategic Initiatives. Specific tasks include helping to determine the prioritization and scope of the various internal and cross-business initiatives, establishing key milestones and ensuring the team is adhering to all timelines
  • Provide direct support to the Chief Strategy Officer, including responding to CEO requests, preparing executive-level materials, supporting team strategy and budgeting processes, leading and coordinating strategic initiatives across global BUs.
  • Establish and maintain effective reporting mechanisms as well as draft and monitor KPIs to ensure project status is communicated in an accurate and timely manner. This will include working with Finance to integrate budget into the reporting framework
  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to message objectives, timing and key deliverables initially then continue to ensure projects and initiatives are progressing according to the timeline
  • Lead preparation for regular reviews of Strategic Initiative workstreams and updates for senior management to report on progress of the programs; this includes drafting agendas, attendee lists, capturing notes and providing summaries with follow up actions
  • Support Strategy Team with ad hoc projects as directed, including quarterly CEO presentation
  • Be a self-starter that will take initiative in moving projects forward, flagging any potential risks and identifying areas of opportunity
