About The Position

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented InfoSec/Cybersecurity Project Management Intern to support our Information Security Program Management Office. In this role, you will help drive execution of security initiatives across Security Engineering, GRC, IT, and Product teams. You will manage tasks in Jira, track remediation of vulnerabilities and audit findings, coordinate project milestones, and help enhance workflows and team collaboration. This internship offers a chance to learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity program and project management in a dynamic fintech environment, while making a tangible impact on the business. To be considered, you must be able to commit to a 10-week hybrid internship and work 40 hours per week during our summer program.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Junior or Senior standing; expected graduation in 2027–2028 preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and escalate potential risks and blockers.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with project management tools; experience with Jira is a plus.
  • Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts (e.g., OWASP Top 10, vulnerability management, NIST CSF/ISO 27001) is a plus.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); exposure to Confluence, basic Excel/Google Sheets analytics, or simple scripting (Python/SQL) is a plus.
  • General interest in fintech and financial markets.

Responsibilities

  • Update, organize, and maintain Jira boards to track security program tasks, milestones, owners, and SLAs (e.g., vulnerability remediation, audit items, and control improvements).
  • Assign tasks and deadlines to appropriate team members and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding security activities.
  • Monitor progress for key InfoSec projects (cloud security initiatives, secure SDLC enhancements, third-party risk, incident readiness) and provide status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Security Engineering, GRC/Compliance, IT, Enterprise Risk, Application Engineering) to track deliverables on strategic security projects.
  • Assist in scheduling project ceremonies and security working sessions; prepare agendas; document decisions, risks, and action items; and maintain project artifacts in Confluence/SharePoint.
  • Help develop and implement improved security PM workflows, dashboards, and metrics (e.g., vulnerability MTTR, patch compliance, control maturity).
  • Support evidence collection and coordination for audits and assessments (e.g., SOC 2, SOX ITGCs, ISO 27001, PCI) and track remediation through closure.
  • Assist with third-party/vendor security reviews by tracking questionnaires, risk ratings, and mitigation plans.
  • Support incident response readiness by coordinating tabletop exercises, maintaining runbooks, and logging follow-up actions.
  • Assist the InfoSec PMO by supporting ad hoc requests, reporting, and special initiatives.
