About The Position

Great Basin College in Elko, Nevada, is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Instructor of Project Management and Business to begin in Spring 2026. The position will be based at the main campus in Elko or at one of GBC’s Education Centers located in Pahrump, Ely, or Winnemucca, Nevada. This role is part of an established and growing program within the School of Business, offering both Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees. We are looking for a dynamic educator with a broad background in business, including project management, marketing, or accounting, and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching in these subject areas. In addition to instructional responsibilities, this position will be directly involved in scheduling and overseeing courses for the business programs. The initial assignment of this position will be program and curriculum development for GBC’s new Project Management emphasis within the School of Business, with teaching assignments as needed. Responsibility will then shift to full-time instruction within the Project Management emphasis. Requirements

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in a field related to project management, supervision, and/or marketing (such as an MBA) is required.
  • Considerable professional experience in business, project management, supervision and/or marketing is required.
  • Willingness to teach online, virtually, and in-person is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A Ph.D. in a related field is preferred.
  • Some previous experience teaching is preferred and teaching in a community college setting is desirable.
  • Experience in delivering business-related programs.
  • An educational philosophy which places the primary emphasis on student learning in the design, delivery and evaluation of courses.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Evidence of the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Project Management program and curriculum for bachelor’s degree.
  • Teach project management courses on a regular and frequent basis.
  • Teach other business and related courses as needed.
  • Coordinate and mentor adjunct instruction in the business area.
  • Participate in program and budget decisions in the School of Business.
  • Take an active role in college and community service.
  • Actively engage the business community of the GBC service area to provide the training and education needed.
  • Work as a team member with a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility in a college setting.
  • Recruit and advise students.
  • Perform required college faculty committee work and other commitments as required.
  • Some travel to other Great Basin College locations, with or without accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Other duties as assigned.
