Primary Role: We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Project Management Assistant to support the project management team. In this role you will play a critical role in supporting to project management team in planning, executing and completing various power utility projects. As a Project Management Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting projects that foster collaboration and guarantee industry standards and best practices are met. This role is an exciting opportunity for those eager to advance their careers in project management in the underground utilities industry.

Requirements

  • Self-directed professional with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proven problem-solver with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities
  • Learn and become proficient with the following systems: Smart Sheet, AS8, GIS, Miss Utility, Microsoft Suite
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and workplace technology
  • Reliable transportation required to meet role and scheduling demands

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in construction management or relevant field experience
  • Background in electric utility industry
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office/Excel

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Project Manager regarding project needs, goals, timelines, and efficiency
  • Develop, update, and maintain project schedules; track progress and report status to customers and the PM as directed
  • Monitor daily work completion and identify required actions to maintain schedule adherence
  • Prepare and manage daily, weekly, and monthly project status and progress reports
  • Review project documents and plans for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Assist with utility permit applications and follow up with jurisdictions regarding inspections and compliance requirements
  • Draft change orders, including scope of work, schedules of values, and associated timelines
  • Assist with bid and contract document preparation, material requisitions, and procurement activities
  • Perform administrative functions including invoicing, issuing and modifying purchase orders, and comprehensive project data entry
  • Schedule Miss Utility tickets to support job-specific construction needs
