About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Management Assistant (Office Engineer) in Pittsfield, NH to support our heavy civil construction projects. This position works directly with Project Management and will be involved in all aspects of construction—from estimating support through project closeout. The ideal candidate will help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 0–3 years of construction experience (heavy civil, water and wastewater experience preferred)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • heavy civil, water and wastewater experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and vendors
  • Review scope and pricing; prepare subcontracts and purchase orders for management review
  • Assist in developing and updating project schedules
  • Track submittals, fabrication, and delivery of materials and major equipment
  • Log and process submittals in accordance with contract requirements
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely material delivery
  • Assist with subcontractor coordination and schedule compliance
  • Perform initial review of submittals and O&M manuals for contract conformance
  • Support field supervision with layout coordination of piping runs and equipment
  • Review project scope and assist in converting estimates into project budgets
  • Code labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs accurately
  • Prepare and communicate Requests for Information (RFIs) to Engineer/Owner
