About The Position

Position Summary:   The primary responsibility of this role will be to define, plan, establish, direct, execute, and document the overall project goals for the IT department by coordinating and working with Operations, IT, Corporate, and other departments on IT systems or related projects.   Directs interaction with other teams, departments, and user groups on product development / enhancements / changes.   Helps manage product development process by coordinating the translation of user requests, testing and support feedback into feature/function requirements.  Drives product release strategies and timing.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Leads or assists with problem resolutions as they occur.  Helps establish department policies and procedures.   Essential Job Functions: Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position.  However, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties that will be required to perform.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or is an essential function of the position. Leads IT department teams and interfaces with Operations and Corporate teams for overall coordination of major initiatives including, but not limited to, the following:    Facility updates, upgrades, startups and shutdowns Software and Hardware upgrades, updates, changes, and implementations Documentation of all Systems integrations, custom processes, and triggers/timing Application, Database, EDI Development Web Development  Documentation   Reporting  Training  General troubleshooting and support issues   Maintains standardization efforts across all facilities Works in conjunction with appropriate other IT resources to complete duties Escalates requests to other IT, operational, or corporate resources when appropriate Keeps track of requests, projects and assignments Helps ensure that downtime on any system is kept to an absolute minimum Must be able to travel for extended periods of time with short notice Responsible for coordinating and assisting with departmental budgetary requests Responsible for procuring, reviewing, and recommending appropriate contractual obligations    Examines industry trends and policies, recommends and initiates changes and enhancements that would benefit the Corporation and its Customers Assists with the planning and analysis of major company activities and assists with the subsequent design and implementation of systems improvement of existing and new data processing applications.  Focus of this position is all aspects of the data processing systems, with the objective of utilizing computer hardware and software to provide the information most useful to the company in the most efficient manner.   Helps train and guide work relating to systems operation and implementation within IT and the operations.  Assists IT and the operation management teams to guide user training issues Ensures that equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner Makes recommendations on improvements in any area of the organization  Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an IT department
  • Project Management experience leading multi-department teams
  • Knowledge of Project Management software and tools to thoroughly document individual projects with the ability to ‘roll up’ to master project levels
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, users, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to query databases to collect and analyze data for key information requests or problem resolutions (SQL – Oracle/MS)
  • Ability to analyze raw data and present it to others in layman’s terms
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Extensive knowledge of the WMS, TMS, and FMS systems and their interactions
  • Knowledge and/or experience of PC Hardware, Networking Hardware, and at least the following software: Microsoft Windows, Database, SQL, Development, Internet, Inventory, Order processing systems, Project Management, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University
  • Four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and experience.

Responsibilities
