Job Summary Langan is seeking an Environmental Project Scientist to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in conducting engineering research and analysis, as well as complex analyses of broader engineering and environmental projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of top-notch professionals in a variety of geographic areas and regulatory programs, and to collaborate and learn from our multi-disciplinary team of site/civil, geotechnical, survey, and landscape architect professionals on landmark land development projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering. Master's degree a plus;
  • 6+ years of related work experience;
  • Proficiency in environmental due diligence;
  • Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software. Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and technical analyses;
  • Hazwoper training, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, and annual 8-hr. Hazwoper re-certification;
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements;
  • Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, manage multiple projects and clients, develop and manage project budgets, and effectively manage and coach staff; and
  • Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects;
  • Effectively organize, write and edit draft proposals, reports and other documents;
  • Perform complex analyses for environmental projects;
  • Develop task and project budgets and schedule and perform task and project administrative activities, including preparing progress reports and reviewing project billings;
  • Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff;
  • Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others;
  • Supervise field activities and make interpretations of findings, ensuring that data collection and laboratory analyses are completed correctly, within budget, and on time;
