About The Position

The FBM program needs a Project-Engineering-focused professional who will plan, schedule, integrate, and control the lifecycle of all technical data product that support war-fighter operations, missile-system assembly, test, and maintenance. The incumbent will act as the project engineer for data products, ensuring they are delivered on-time, on-budget, and to the required quality and security standards while synchronizing with operations, production, logistics, and government partners. Summary of key responsibilities for this position: · Assist with schedule development – update the master schedule for data-product streams (OPs, ODs, SWOPs, work instructions) and report status to the senior engineer. · Track funding basics – maintain simple cost and funding logs (MIPR, DSO) and provide routine variance data to the Associate Manager. · Support configuration control – managing change requests, help baseline revisions, and upload approved documents to the program’s SSP repositories. · Apply security and classification rules – verify, repose, and distribute CUI/COMSEC material according to NISPOM guidance under supervision. · Help drive process improvements – gather metric data (on-time delivery, defect count) and suggest tooling tweaks for S1000D, MAP/IMPs, or Apriso. · Drive continuous-improvement initiatives for promulgation processes, tooling (S1000D, MAP/IMPs, Apriso), and metrics (on-time delivery, defect density, rework). · Support for the SWS Facility, translating schedule changes into data product · Provide production-support coordination and long range planning for the SWS Facility, translating schedule changes into data product updates and ensuring the shop floor receives current, approved data. · Facilitate technical reviews and approvals (final product reviews) and prepare briefing packages for senior leadership and Navy customers as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (engineering field or technical discipline preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Prior project planning experience: proposal, cost modeling, or long-range.
  • Experience handling, writing, organizing, and coordinating documentation/data
  • Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and PDF editing tools
  • Must be a US citizen, will be subject to a government security investigation, and must meet eligibility requirements for a security clearance
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to travel occasionally

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work collaboratively with peers, customers, and supervisors and begin to build professional relationships.
  • Basic project-coordination experience (e.g., creating task lists, maintaining schedules, tracking status) with exposure to formal project-management tools.
  • Missile Tech experience
  • Familiarity with the engineering lifecycle stages (system definition, design, build, test, and field deployment) through coursework, internships, or early-career assignments.
  • Experience participating in cross-functional teams to help resolve technical questions and support problem-solving efforts.
  • Some experience handling or tracking classified documentation/data under supervision, with an understanding of basic CUI/COMSEC requirements.
  • Awareness of data-at-rest protection and basic encryption principles.
  • Working knowledge of FBM/re-entry system documentation (e.g., ODs, SWOPs) gained through training or on-the-job exposure.
  • Solid software background; comfortable using basic scripting or macro development.
  • Familiarity with XML and other simple structured markup languages (e.g., S1000D basics).
  • Ability to perform straightforward compliance checks against requirements and flag issues for review.
  • Capability to assist technical leads in tracking cost, schedule, and scope items and to provide clear status updates.
  • Beginning to apply systems-thinking concepts; able to identify how a change in one area may affect others and suggest practical improvements.
