About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer / Project Manager to support mechanical engineering projects in the mining and heavy industrial sector. This role involves a combination of engineering design, fieldwork, technical reporting, and project coordination. This position is initially structured as a 6-month contract assignment, with the potential to extend based on project needs and individual performance. The selected candidate will work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and client representatives to support project execution from early planning through design and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, preferably in mining, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or energy environments.
  • Experience with mechanical design, piping systems, and industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)
  • Ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Ability to perform fieldwork in active industrial or mining environments.
  • Comfortable working onsite in Winnemucca, Nevada on a 4x10 schedule.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering analysis and design work related to mechanical systems, mining equipment, and industrial infrastructure.
  • Prepare and review mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, piping designs, and P&IDs.
  • Conduct field investigations, equipment inspections, and site data collection to support engineering evaluations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and operational issues in industrial environments.
  • Assist project managers with planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities.
  • Support preparation of work plans, engineering studies, feasibility analyses, and cost estimates.
  • Contribute to long-term monitoring reports, engineering evaluations, and technical documentation.
  • Track project progress and assist with maintaining project documentation and deliverables.
  • Participate in meetings and communications with client representatives and project stakeholders.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, RFQs/RFP responses, and scope development.
  • Support internal teams with project budgeting, resource planning, and schedule coordination.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering summaries, and design documentation.
  • Develop calculation packages, reports, and other project deliverables.
  • Ensure all work products meet company quality standards and client requirements.
