About The Position

Amentum is seeking a high performing Project Engineer II to work in our Englewood, CO office, to lead the technical execution of Engineering projects supporting our Environmental Management, Defense, National Security and National Laboratory customers. This is a great position for those looking to transition their career from the Engineering Design track to the Management track, with an affinity for supporting projects that are actively in the Design Implementation / Construction phase. As an Amentum Project Engineer, you would be responsible for applying both engineering knowledge, management and leadership skills throughout the full lifecycle of projects. Project Engineers must possess a high aptitude for coordinating technical teams through the design integration and evolution process, decoding and spearheading resolution to multi-disciplinary engineering issues, while representing the interest of, and providing best value for our customers. As a member of the Design Projects team, you would be joining an outstanding group of Project Engineers and Project Directors who are dedicated and passionate about leading the successful execution of projects in the nuclear waste treatment, radioactive waste cleanup, environmental management, and advanced clean energy solutions arena. Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university in Engineering.
  • 12 years Engineering Experience.
  • No less than 5 years as a licensed professional engineer (active license), with minimum 5 years Project Engineering Management Experience, with a focus on design implementation (Field / Construction) focus.
  • Professional Engineering License(s) in Good Standing, with ability to attain license in various states.
  • Knowledge of quality requirements such as NQA-1
  • 3D Modeling / Plant Design Capabilities is desired.
  • Construction / Field Experience with an understanding and appreciation for supporting emergent field issues.
  • Experience in DOE projects or DOE Laboratory Experience is required.
  • Superb communication and time management skills.
  • Position will require 30%-50% travel.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.
  • Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Process and Utility design is desirable.
  • Field experiences including engineering, procurement and construction support, startup and commissioning is required, as well as demonstrated experience supervising engineers and subcontractors
