About The Position

Plains All American is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2 years of engineering or construction project-management experience in the oil industry, including project-cost management and engineering design.
  • Experience with designing power/electrical-distribution delivery systems.
  • Experience with managing the lifecycle of capital engineering or construction projects.
  • Experience with managing project schedules using project-management software.
  • 25% domestic travel to project sites within the Permian Basin region.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively research accounting issues and standards
  • Upon completion of research, must be able to clearly communicate and document conclusions and assist other departments with the implementation of such conclusions
  • Effective interaction with middle and front office personnel, senior management, financial reporting, and internal and external auditors
  • Motivated and persistent approach to work, takes ownership of assigned tasks
  • Excellent organizational and spreadsheet skills, paying close attention to details
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
  • Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful execution of capital expansion program by managing lifecycle for engineering and construction projects.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the project-management process, including scope development, cost development, schedule, contracting strategy, contractor bid and award, procurement, construction, documentation, and close-out.
  • Provide engineering-design services, including for power/electrical-distribution delivery systems, to ensure project-execution plans align with sound engineering principles, costs, and schedules.
  • Implement detailed work plans and manage time and resources to meet project deadlines.
  • Define and manage project risk to meet delivery goals and develop contingency plans and solutions.
  • Collaborate with operating locations in planning project execution and engage stakeholders.
  • Oversee field implementation for assigned projects, including pre-startup safety reviews and commissioning.
  • Manage contractor performance and adherence to internal policies, quality standards, and engineering specifications.
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts and drive project performance.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets and schedules using Microsoft Project or SharePoint.
  • Initiate, review, and negotiate project contracts and manage change orders.
  • Develop and prepare project reports for internal and external distribution and maintain detailed records of project activities.
