Project Engineer I – Substation Automation (SCADA) performs a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with engineering staff, methods, practices and programs. Project Engineer I – Substation Automation (SCADA) works under close supervision but is expected to have some level of independence with required engineering tasks. The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties required of personnel so classified.

  • Assist in development of plans, specifications and inspection reports.
  • Ability to confidently and correctly explain technical directions to coworkers and clients.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Performs basic functions of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Computer networking knowledge and experience.
  • Skilled at debugging and documenting existing code, and/or creating new code.
  • Understanding of electrical one-lines and reading schematics preferred.
  • Willingness to travel ~25% to 50%, infrequent overnight stays.
  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Zero to two years of applicable experience required.
  • Experience with Wireshark, PLC/RTU programming (SEL, Eaton, Orion, Schneider), and VBA preferred.
  • Experience with Networking Routing/Switching, Object Oriented coding (Structured Text, comparable to C), HMI Graphical Interface design preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
