CLX Engineering is hiring a PLC/SCADA Commissioning Engineer to lead integration for airport baggage handling and boarding bridge systems. Lead on-site execution, drive daily coordination, and knock down roadblocks. Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and internal teams. Contribute to proposals, estimating, and early technical planning. Write and troubleshoot PLC logic with RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, and CCW (IEC languages). Integrate networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet) and interface with VFDs, HMIs, SCADA, and third-party systems. Build Ignition-based integrations and visualizations; craft operator-friendly HMI screens (FactoryTalk View preferred; Ignition/Wonderware acceptable). Design, program, test, and commission baggage handling and boarding bridge systems. Update AutoCAD drawings and ensure compliance with codes and standards. Lead installation crews and vendors; validate end-to-end performance. Run in-house tests, SAT, and full commissioning; write test plans, work plans, and detailed DOOs. Coordinate materials and logistics to keep work moving. Collaborate with peers on shared programming and system design. Work Realities (so there are no surprises) Night shifts, off-hours, and occasional overtime during commissioning Travel required, sometimes with short notice Rotating on-call participation Active airport settings: tight spaces, dim lighting, variable temperatures Lift up to 50 lbs and work safely around live systems

Requirements

  • 4+ years of PLC programming with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, or similar
  • Experience in live, high-pressure industrial or transportation environments
  • Fluency in controls fundamentals and electrical schematics
  • Ability to interpret and execute TSA test procedures and formal test plans
  • HMI/SCADA experience (FactoryTalk View preferred; Ignition/Wonderware acceptable)
  • AutoCAD familiarity
  • Clear documentation and client-facing communication skills
  • Leadership experience with crews, vendors, and trades
  • Willingness and ability to pass TSA SIDA clearance and background checks
