About The Position

The Junior Project Engineer will provide support to Sr. Engineers and Sr. Project Managers in planning, executing, and monitoring construction projects. This role serves as a bridge between technical design and project management, ensuring that technical standards are met, while projects remain on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate will handle tasks such as drafting, data analysis, scheduling, documentation and coordinating with teams/suppliers, focusing on technical support, process improvement and ensuring project milestones are met. This role provides hands-on training and a strong foundation for professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline
  • 0 – 3 years of experience within a construction-related environment in project estimation, project management, project coordination; or alternatively, relevant recent graduate
  • Experience with the MS Office suite, MS Project, Bluebeam, Togal A1 software
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings and specifications
  • A willingness to learn and be coached and mentored
  • Strong analytical, mathematical and computer skills required
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Astute time management, attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, planning, effective multi-tasking, problem-solving, analytical, follow-through and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively alone and within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, collaborative team environment
  • Valid CA driver’s license, clean and insurable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or Engineer in Training (EIT), a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior staff in planning, organizing, executing, developing project plans, timelines and resource allocation for various construction projects.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documents, comprehensive project records, including meeting minutes, status reports and technical specifications.
  • Conduct research, perform calculations, collect data, review and process technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM) and change orders, under senior supervision.
  • Track project progress, update timelines, monitor performance metrics and assist with managing project budgets.
  • Facilitate clear communication between internal teams, sub-contractors and clients to resolve technical or logistical issues.
  • Support material purchasing, track hardware delivery, and coordinate with vendors.
  • Utilize software to include Bluebeam, MS Office suite, MS Project, Togal A1 and InterCAD T6.
