About The Position

Iona University is seeking a dynamic and collaborative applicant to serve as the Project Director for a grant-funded Interprofessional Education (IPE) Initiative. The individual will manage the daily operations of the project and help design, implement and assess IPE activities. Working closely with faculty from multiple disciplines that participate in the IPE at Iona program and the IPE Project Coordinator, the Project Director will lead efforts to foster and enhance meaningful interprofessional learning opportunities that prepare students for collaborative, team-based care in clinical and community settings. This position is partially funded by grant funding, and renewal is dependent on continued grant funding.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in a health sciences, behavioral health, or related field.
  • 2 years of project management experience
  • Prior experience in an IPE or clinical training interdisciplinary initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams
  • Commitment to inclusive, team-based healthcare education.
  • Adept at comprehensively understanding processes and their interconnectedness, with the ability to communicate this information professionally to stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail; demonstrate a strong commitment to precision and accuracy in all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong focus on flexibility, ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills, good follow-up and judgment. Must be able to prioritize.
  • Must possess excellent communication and writing skills, patience, professionalism and ability to effectively interact with staff, faculty, and management alike; take meeting minutes.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information, with a demonstrated capacity to solve problems effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening and the ability to understand stakeholder needs
  • Proven ability as a self-starter with a resourceful mindset, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and community members.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Qualtrics; ability to learn additional software as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Terminal degree (e.g., PhD, DHSc, EdD, or equivalent) in a health sciences, behavioral health, or related field.
  • Prior experience in leading an IPE initiative
  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level
  • Experience working with IPEC Core Competencies
  • Experience in grant management, including identifying funding opportunities, preparing and submitting grant proposals, and managing compliance and reporting requirements
  • Experience in academic program development, preferably in interprofessional or interdisciplinary education

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and facilitation for internal and external stakeholders of the IPE initiative.
  • Oversee and facilitate interprofessional education events and curricular components of IPE initiatives in collaboration with faculty from programs in IPE participating disciplines.
  • Collaborate with the IPE Program Coordinator and guide in the planning, logistics, and communications related to the project.
  • Work with Clinic Directors of the Speech and Hearing Clinic and Iona Family Therapy Center to develop processes for IPE team collaboration under the umbrella of the Iona University Interprofessional Community Wellness Center for producing optimal client outcomes.
  • Serve as the liaison between community partners and other external stakeholders regarding the IPE initiative.
  • Develop and teach interprofessional focused courses for the IPE initiative
  • Lead data collection efforts and work with the IPE Coordinator contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of the IPE program.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, ensure progress toward goals, and produce regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, including grant sponsors.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and budgetary guidelines.
  • Support sustainability planning and efforts to secure future funding
