About The Position

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a Project Coordinator in Columbia University Department of Psychiatry's Division on Substance Use Disorders. This individual will work in the Opioid Laboratory on several ongoing and upcoming NIDA-funded clinical trials focused on opioid use disorder, withdrawal, and overdose. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, possess good judgment, and be capable of working autonomously in a research environment with active clinical trials. A flexible work schedule and the ability to travel between research sites is needed. The candidate must be meticulous in carrying out research protocols and enjoy working with human research participants. Must be familiar with various software programs (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Redcap, SPSS).

Requirements

  • Master's degree in an area relevant to medical science and mental health
  • At least (1-3) years of relevant experience working on large federal-grant or industry-sponsored studies

Nice To Haves

  • At least (1-3) years of experience working with people who use drugs

Responsibilities

  • Participating in and completing research projects, including but not limited to protocol development
  • Coordination of IRB submissions
  • Leading project meetings
  • Managing study oversight and project documentation
  • Contributing to the development of data collection tools and statistical analysis plans
  • Providing support as needed for scientific issues that may arise during study execution
  • Training and supervision of research assistants
  • Working closely with biostatisticians to plan analyses of clinical data
  • Presenting and publishing findings in high impact journals
  • Evening and weekend work may be required occasionally
